........is the most important part of your projects.
- Success is in the Planning
The key to a successful project is in the planning - there are many views of what defines a project, but in our view, the fact that you have considered the need for a project plan is evidence that you are undertaking a significant project and require the necessary tools.
- What is a project plan?
Simply, a Project Plan sets out the tasks and activities needed to deliver a project, and for each of these, a duration and timeframe is given. The duration may simply be the estimated duration of each task (how long will it take to do), and the timeframe could be a start on date X or start after task Y. When these are put together for all tasks, the Project Plan enables an expected project completion date to be determined.
- When to use a Project Plan
The flexibility and easy of use of a project plan means that they can be invaluable in a wide range of circumstances, for example, when running an IT project, introducing a new process or procedure in a company, building a house / extension, preparing for an audit / inspection etc
